New date for blood donation session
THORNHILL residents have been asked to give blood this weekend after a late date change. The donation session at Wallace Hall Academy will now take place on Sunday from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2-3.30 pm. The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) is welcoming anyone who can help, saying that just one blood donation can save or improve the lives of up to three people. To give blood, head to the scotblood.co.uk to check eligibility, sign up, and book an appointment to donate, or call 0345 90 90 999. An SNBTS spokesperson said: “We’re always looking for these vital donations so please come down to Wallace Hall Academy on Sunday. “Having blood available at all times is essential and the SNBTS work to ensure that patients in Scotland, wherever they are treated, have the very best transfusion care. “It is our responsibility to make sure blood is available when patients need it, and residents can play their part in helping us achieve our goals. “Whether you are thinking about donating for the first time, a regular donor or haven’t donated in a while, a warm welcome from our staff awaits you.”
