THE ribbon was cut on the new Change Mental Health resource centre in Dumfries town centre this week.
Pictured above at the official opening of the new base, in Queensberry Street, are Christine Guthrie and Nick Ward, CEO at Change Mental Health, and Emma Scott, head of Dumfries and Galloway services, with MSP Colin Smyth.
Formerly at Mountainhall, Change Mental Health has been active in Dumfries for nearly 40 years, offering resource centres as a way in which people can access high-quality mental health support on the high street.
The move to Queensberry Street marks the next step in ensuring that Change Mental Health meets its mission of people having access to the support they need and in a way which works best for them.
Colin Smyth said: “It was a real privilege to help open the fantastic Change Mental Health Resource Centre which now has a new home right in the heart of Dumfries.
“The team at Change Mental Health work tirelessly to help and support so many people in our community and it was brilliant to see just how this new centre will continue the good work which has been done for the past 40 years.
“Having the resource centre in this amazing new location will ensure more people can access the mental health support they need, right on the high street.
“I would like to congratulate everyone involved in getting the new centre up and running.”
