National recognition for Arun

ARUN Smith from Dumfries and Galloway Council has been named one of the Law Society of Scotland’s 2026 In-house Rising Stars.

This national award recognises emerging legal talent working in in-house roles and highlights the important contribution early-career lawyers make within local government.

A council spokesperson said: "It is encouraging to see in-house legal talent being recognised across Scotland, including here in Dumfries and Galloway. Well done, Arün – an achievement to be proud of."
