RIVERSIDE ART . . . Nathan (Nate) Robinson, a Thornhill-based sculptor and blacksmith, showed off plans for his proposed 7.3 metre high public artwork earmarked for a prominent site next to the Battery Brae in Annan. The metal sculpture would feature the stormy river together with a mythical horse figure known as a kelpie and could include some of the recovered parts of the two lost bridges. Nathan was on hand at the Market Hall along with History Town joint-development officer Gail McPhillips to explain the concept and plans. The pace of completing the project, aimed at boosting civic pride, increasing town centre footfall and attracting more visitors would depend on successfully sourcing the estimated £100k funding required *** Local Caption *** RIVERSIDE ART . . .
