Music making returns to Ellisland
A NEW immersive songwriting programme for young musicians is coming to Ellisland Farm this autumn. Running across September and October, the programme includes a weekend retreat, a professional studio session, and a live public showcase. This residential workshop invites young songwriters aged 16–25 to take part in a unique creative experience led by acclaimed producer and educator Rory Comerford. Rory is a Dumfries-based musician, producer and educator with over 15 years’ experience in live performance, studio work, and music education. He is passionate about empowering young voices through collaborative and inclusion. The programme includes: a two-day creative retreat at Ellisland Farm with group songwriting games, nature-inspired writing exercises, and a solo overnight challenge.
In addition, there will be a studio recording session where participants will record their finished songs at Circa 16 Studio in Dumfries, guided by professional producers. And it will culminate in a live showcase and album launch at Hopper Records, featuring a collaborative album launch of songs created during the retreat.
