Museum to host astronomy event

LOOK to the skies over Dumfries Museum on Saturday night. Join museum director Judith Hewitt for an illustrated talk on the history of the museum and past astronomy work on telescopes and the camera obscura. Learn about the night sky and how different telescopes and binoculars can be used with Dumfries Astronomy Society with indoor displays if the weather is overcast. The astronomy evening will take place between 5 pm and 8 pm on Saturday, attendees are encouraged to wear warm and waterproof clothing, for more information visit the museum’s Facebook page.
