'Muff' on the move

THE end of the 2019-20 season sees Annan Rugby’s Neil Moffat stepping down from his head club coach and associated touchline duties after nine years with the Senior Men, to take on a more strategic role with the club senior executive.

In his time as a coach he has seen the 1st XV win two West Regional Division 2 championships, both in unbeaten runs and reach a West Shield final.

During this time the Club were also awarded Club of the Year at the Annandale and Eskdale Sports awards in 2013 relation to the first of those league championships and SRU Club of the Month and Club of the Year following the second in 2016.

Neil and his then co-coach Baz Smith were also awarded joint Coaches of the Year at the Annandale and Eskdale Sports awards in 2013.

Club president Gary Coupland said “Neil can I, on behalf of all at Annan Rugby, thank you for all your efforts in all weathers over the 9 years, and would hope that when they can the boys will buy you a well earned pint or two”
