A MOTORBIKER was taken to hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries following a crash on the A76 on Monday evening. The 55-year-old man was riding a Yamaha FZ1 Fazer motorbike, which was in collision with a black Vauxhall Antara at about 6.50 pm close to Mennock. He was taken by air ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with what are described as serious injuries. The 45-year-old female driver of the car was uninjured. The road was closed to allow for an investigation and fully reopened around 3 am this morning. Police are appealing for witnesses and information and Sergeant Colin Ramage, of the Road Policing Unit in Lockerbie, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would urge anyone with information who hasn’t yet spoken to us to get in touch. “We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area. “Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3164 of 18 August, 2025.”
