More cop patrols at forest sites
EXTRA police patrols are to be carried out at forestry sites in the region, in response to anti social behaviour.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland Dumfries and Galloway said: “We are aware of ongoing issues with the anti-social and dangerous use of motorbikes within local forestry land.
“Riding without the landowner’s permission is an offence and poses a serious risk to pedestrians, cyclists, and other responsible users of these areas. This behaviour not only damages the environment but also endangers the safety of others who use these spaces for walking, cycling and recreation.
“As the spring days get longer, we will continue carrying out patrols in affected areas and will take appropriate action where offences are identified.”
Officers urge anyone with information or concerns to report it via 101, email or in an emergency dial 999.
