It brings the covid fatality total at the Thorney Croft Care Home in Stranraer to ten.
And there has also been 45 positive cases among residents and another 45 among staff.
Community Integrated Care – the charity which runs the home – and Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership have been working in close partnership to ensure all necessary plans and protocols are in place to manage the outbreak.
The charity’s managing director Martin McGuigan said: “Our teams continue to work tirelessly, alongside the local authority and public health teams, to implement extensive infection prevention measures to manage this outbreak.
“Our hearts go out to the loved ones of our residents, as well as our colleagues. We are continuing to provide practical and emotional support to everyone at this very difficult time.”
