Moniaive Horse Show rides again

DRY weather and a good turnout ensured the annual Moniaive Horse Show was a success on Sunday.

Dozens of horses and riders competed in the various classes throughout the day, culminating in the championship.

And the standard was so high that judge found it challenging to pick out a champion and reserve and also awarded a third place.

The top accolade went to Brian Williams on Westwick Florrie; reserve champion was Shona Wallace with Tooreeny Diamond; while third was Corrin Anderson and Swagger Jagger.

In the showjumping, the trophy went to Katlyn Jolly on Indy, while best in show dog was Stella owned by Kathryn Frost.

Show secretary Eunice Laidlaw said: “We need to thank all who came to make the show; our sponsors, as without them the show would not happen; judges, stewards and helpers. Also, Robert Wilson and family for the use of the fields and spectators who came to enjoy it.

“Arabella ice cream and KPT Trust for providing food and refreshments and Knockenhair Hospitality for feeding the judges and stewards.”
