A MEETING to discuss the future of Rosefield Mills will take place next Wednesday.

Hosted by Dumfries Historic Buildings Trust, the public meeting is open to anyone who would like to be part of the historic site’s restoration and transformation.

Giving more detail about the purpose of the meeting, a spokesperson for the trust said: “Our objectives are to establish a new charitable special purpose vehicle (a SCIO or similar) with a sole focus on the Rosefield Mills Project, for the restoration and sustainable re-use of the riverfront building: to recruit and develop the capacity of more volunteers, and in particular to identify prospective new board members;to engage further with funders, The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and others; to prepare funding applications to NLHF and others and to complete the development and delivery of the project.

“With that in mind, the DHBT is looking for individuals, who have a passion for our local architectural heritage, experience in project development, project management and fundraising, as well as community engagement, to come forward to help with this exciting next step.”

The meeting will be held at the The Standard building on the High Street from 6 pm on Wednesday November 19. Anybody wishing to attend is encouraged to email the trust at: [email protected] by Monday.
