Man dies in car fire

The body of George Smith, 73, from Kintail Park in Lockerbie, was discovered in a vehicle at the Halleaths Caravan site at 10.25 am on Monday. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Inspector Graham Kerr, of Police Scotland, said today: "A joint fire investigation has taken place between Police Scotland the Fire and Rescue Service and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding this death. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed of the circumstances."
