Looking ahead

KAT Hill has been appointed as the creative director for Upland, to lead the organisation into its second decade of

championing artists and makers locally.

She is a cultural leader, educator and writer who began her career as an academic historian.

Kat said: “Upland has a strong reputation for its work in the community and in the environment – both particular passions of mine, along with the power of culture to enrich people’s lives.

“I very much look forward to carrying this work forward into Upland’s second decade and to supporting the large and vibrant creative community that is such a significant part of life and culture in Dumfries and Galloway.”
