Lochmaben bench reveal date set

A BENCH in memory of a Lochmaben resident will be unveiled later this month. Peter Johnstone has been fundraising to get a bench installed in memory of his dear friend Daniel 'Goof" Blackwood, pictured above, outside the Burgh town hall. After an impressive £2000 was raised, the hopes have become a reality. And the bench will be installed at the town hall on Friday, March 20 at 12 pm. It will be unveiled by former Tottenham and Ajax player Alistair Dick on behalf of the Legend on the Bench Charity. Peter said: “Thank you to all businesses that helped by donating and selling numbers/raffle tickets and to everyone that donated. “A special thanks to Jane Purdie for getting the ball moving on everything and helping in any way she could. All much appreciated and we’ll see you on March 20.”
