Last ring for phone box?

DISCUSSIONS about the removal of a phone box in Wigtown will be held next week.

The council’s Wigtownshire Area Committee will consider a proposal to remove a BT phone box from North Main Street due to low usage.

Councillors will be asked note the proposal and consider whether they should make a representation to the consultation.

According to committee paper the phone box has only been used 11 times in last 12 months, and there have been no objections made to the plan.
