Instrument library launch success
A RANGE of string, brass, percussion and woodwind instruments are now available borrow from Lockerbie Library. The We Make Music Instrument Library held its official launch event last Friday afternoon, with singer and guitarist Alex Bailey taking the mic to perform a live set. The collaborative effort between Dumfries and Galloway Council and community partners DMC allows people of all ages to borrow an instrument like a book. It follows the successful launch of the first We Make Music Library in Dumfries. Dumfries and Galloway Libraries posted a statement on social media. It said: “We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new Musical Instrument Library at Lockerbie Library! “Whether you’re a complete beginner, a seasoned musician, or just curious to try something new, you can now borrow a range of instruments just like you would a book. “To celebrate, we hosted a special launch event featuring a performance with our guest musician, Alex Bailey. We also had our first library customer take out an instrument. “Come along to Lockerbie Library to find out more!”
