‘Hot’ total for rowing club
A CURRY and quiz night went down a treat to raise £400 for Wigtown Bay Coastal Rowing Club. The festive fundraiser was recently held at the South Machars Community Centre with club members and friends gathering to enjoy a night a game and food. Reflecting on the success of the evening, a club spokesperson said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of you who came along to support our event. We’re delighted to say we raised just shy of £400 for the club! “It was a fun night enjoyed by all. Special thanks to our chair John for cooking a delicious meal for 40 people, to our resident quiz master Hamish for taking the time to test our knowledge, to Sue for her donation of food, setting up and running the raffle and to Ann and Simon for helping set up and run raffle and games. “Congratulations to the winning quiz team ‘Oarsome’ and to Tom for winning the whisky game.”
