The result of a Fatal Accident Inquiry into the death of Thomas Hein, age 25, on the A74 near j15 in July 2023 has been published. And it concludes there was that no evidence of a catastrophic mechanical failure, driver impairment, or of another vehicle being involved. Instead, the sheriff believes he fell asleep.
