Helping firms be covid safe

THREE ‘safe trading’ jobs are to be created at Dumfries and Galloway Council at a cost of £97,650.

Their remit will be to help businesses in the region operate safely and follow all the new covid regulations and guidance.

And they will be part of the local authority’s Safe Trading team, which is made up of trading standards and environmental health staff, who are focussed on ensuring that businesses are Covid-safe.

Officials estimate the posts will be needed for the next two years and will also have a remit when the UK exits the EU.
