Help Dumfries shine

A NEW town-wide initiative to help Dumfries looks its best will launch next month. 'Dumfries Shine', is the latest effort by the Dumfries Town Board to encourage residents to take pride in their town through a series of clean-up days, local improvements, and volunteer-led actions. Giving more detail a spokesperson for the town board said: "It’s all about making Dumfries shine – not just physically through tidying and beautifying our public spaces, but socially, by bringing people together across neighbourhoods, generations, and sectors." Priority areas for cleaning have already by identified with the help of Doonhamers and include: the vennels, riverfront paths, car parks, public green space as well as lanes and alleyways in the town centre.
