Happy ending for Moffat rescue dog
ONE of the six abandoned dogs rescued near Moffat has found her forever home.
Charlotte was one of the pack of six dogs found wandering the B719 between Moffat and Greenhillstairs in 2023.
She and the others were taken in by Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue where they have been living ever since
Now Charlotte is the first of the pack to be re-homed after two years. She’s now been in her new home for around a month and is thriving. Giving an update, her new owners said: “It can be very rewarding to home a rescue dog and Charlotte is a prime example of showing that whatever their past traumas have been, given love and patience they will pay you back a hundred fold.
“Charlotte is still doing amazingly. She has remained clean in the house, is respectful of other dogs she meets on her walks and is enjoying playing with toys (and digging large holes in the lawn!).
“We are getting her used to the car with five minutes drives, and she has taken to it fine. She is eager to learn and to please and we absolutely adore her.”
Taking to social media to celebrate the news, a spokesperson for Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue added: “After an incredibly traumatic start in life, Charlotte spent just over two years with us, slowly learning that people could be a positive.
“Watching her grow, build confidence, and finally begin to enjoy life and human company has been nothing short of amazing.
“It’s been quite a journey and we are so very proud of her!
“We can only hope that the others find their happily ever after just like Charlotte has!
“She finally has the life she deserves and although we miss her a great deal, we couldn’t be happier for her.”
