REPORTS have emerged this week that the US trial of the alleged Lockerbie ‘bombmaker’ could be delayed until next year.
It’s said that lawyers for Abu Agila Mas’ud Kheir Al-Marimi, known as Masud, are set to request it is postponed until late April 2026.
But it’s understood the move has not yet been approved by a judge.
The case against the Libyan, who is in his 70s, was due to begin in Washington this month, but was delayed due to his poor health and to give the defence more time to prepare.
He has denied charges of priming the device which exploded in Pan Am flight 103 on December 21 1988, killing 270 people on the plane and in Lockerbie.
