Lotto funding joy

LOTTERY funding of £300,000 will help Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus grow their services across Wigtownshire.

They described it as a ‘transformational’ amount, that will allow support for LGBT+ individuals, families, and all communities.

It will go on providing free counselling and emotional support, peer support groups, training and awareness sessions for organisations, families, and individuals, and outreach and advocacy.

Service manager Iain Campbell said: “This funding is a lifeline for so many people in our community.

“It means we can continue to offer more safe spaces in some of the rural locations, compassionate 1-2-1 support, and vital education that helps break down barriers and build understanding.”
