A BIRTHDAY party is taking place later this week to mark a year of a breast cancer support group in the region.
Tea and Chat Dumfries is marking its first anniversary with a celebration event on Friday, May 9.
It will be held at The Usual Place in Dumfries from 12 noon to 2 pm.
All secondary/metastatic breast cancer patients from around Dumfries and Galloway are invited to attend and can expect a warm welcome.
Organiser Sarah McDiarmid said: “We are still a small group and it’s really more like meeting a couple of friends for a coffee than going to a traditional support group. However, it is a safe space to share our journeys and support each other.
“I would absolutely love to welcome some new members on Friday, so please do tell any secondary breast cancer patients about the group.”
