Festive cheer

CHRISTMAS lights went up in Lockerbie this week, sparking smiles amid the corona gloom.

Contractors were in the town on Monday to sort out the festive display, which will be turned on later this month, albeit without the usual ceremony.

Meanwhile, the lights team had another reason to smile this week when they were presented with a £2000 cheque for their work.

The money has come from Muirhall, developers of the Crossdykes Windfarm fund at Bankshill.

Pictured receiving the donation from Jason Morin of Muirhall was Roger Claymore, watched by members of the Christmas Lights Committee and contractors from Wilson Electrical
