Energy firm donates to community groups
RENEWABLE energy developer Muirhall Energy has awarded over £30,000 to community groups in Dumfries and Galloway.
The donations are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support the communities closest to its renewable energy projects.
They went to: Changing Places Eskdale Foundation, £10,000; Langholm Young Riders Club, £2692; Langholm Alliance, £2930; Dumfriesshire and Stewartry Women’s Aid, £5000; Langholm Academy, £1000; Solas for Nature, £5000; Dumfries and Lockerbie Agricultural Society – Dumfries Show, £300; Lockerbie Christmas Lights, £2500; Eskdale Agri Show, £1500; Lockerbie Primary School, £1500; Langholm Christmas Lights Committee, £2000.
Spokesperson Siobhan Jarvie said: “Every Muirhall development is rooted in community and we are pleased to be working with the communities closest to our Hopsrig and Loganhead windfarm proposals in Dumfries and Galloway. We are committed to ensuring our work leaves a positive and enduring legacy in every area we are working in.”
Muirhall Energy welcomes funding applications and meets quarterly to award grants. The first awards of 2026 will be announced later this month and the deadline for applications to the next panel meeting will be April 24.
