SOLWAY Skating Club has combined community spirit with club development through a successful Easter fundraiser. The charity push supported both local young carers and the skaters. It saw the club collect over 40 Easter eggs to be gifted to young carers across Dumfries and Galloway, while raising money to go towards a new skating harness, which will help skaters learn and progress safely on the ice. Supporters donated Easter eggs and cash contributions in return for a prize draw entry. A club spokesperson said: “This was a really special initiative for us because it supported two important causes at once. We were able to give something back to young carers in our community while also investing in equipment that will help our skaters grow in confidence and ability. The support we received was fantastic. “The Easter egg donations will bring a bit of joy to young people who take on caring responsibilities at home, while the funds raised will provide equipment that allows skaters to develop new skills and progress with greater confidence and safety.”
