DONATIONS of foodstuffs, toiletries, school uniform, pet care or pet food items will once again be collected at Youth Beatz. The free festival aims to support local communities across Dumfries and Galloway and they are asking those attending to support the food donation and school uniform donation point - if you are able to. There will be collection points at the entrance for: Food and toiletries: tinned meat/vegetables/fruit, tea/coffee, biscuits, cereal, tinned soup, pasta (dried), rice, chocolates, treats, toiletries and baby products. School clothing: school clothing, school uniforms items (including blazers, branded tops, polo shirts and ties), coats, shoes, bags, stationery and school sportswear that you no longer need and could be used by others. All donations received will be distributed to local organisations and food providers the region. Councillor Maureen Johnstone said: “The Youth Beatz Donation Project is an important aspect of Youth Beatz that makes a huge difference to children, young people and families across the region. All donations that we receive over the weekend will be distributed to local organisations and food providers throughout Dumfries and Galloway.” Meanwhile, there will also be a period dignity product stall in the Youth Information Marketplace that will supply free period products over the event weekend.
