NOMINATIONS are officially open for the Dumfries & Galloway Unsung Hero Awards 2025. The brand-new celebration takes place on October 10 at The Cairndale Hotel, honouring the incredible individuals and groups who go above and beyond to make a difference in local communities—often without seeking any recognition. The categories are: Unsung Hero – Adult Award: For an individual aged 18+ who consistently goes the extra mile to support others or their community. Unsung Hero – Youth Award: For an inspiring young person (under 18) whose positive actions are making a real impact. Unsung Hero – Community Group Award: For a local group, charity, or informal team working together to bring about positive change. Special Recognition Award: For someone who doesn’t quite fit into the above categories but whose efforts deserve to be celebrated.
