DUMFRIES DJ Andy Mitchell completed a mammoth marathon radio presenting fundraising challenge. Popular Andy was on air from Saturday 2 pm until Sunday at the same time at local community radio station, Alive 107.3. Andy – who usually hosts The Southwest Sports Show on Saturdays – was joined by family members, friends and fellow presenters during the day-long challenge. And the group were there at the end to cheer him during the final countdown. Despite an official donation total not being revealed yet, Andy is expected to have raised over £1500 for the station – who are fundraising to purchase a new antenna. After the gruelling challenge, Andy admitted he was exhausted but proud of his achievements. [caption id="attachment_62381" align="alignnone" width="680"]

Especially to Drew, Kealy and Sammi, absolutely amazing, couldn’t have done this challenge without them. “That was one emotional rollercoaster. I hope you enjoyed the 24 hours, I did my best.” You can still donate at https://tinyurl.com/3rr3522p
