MICHAEL’S CHURCH DUMFRIES 10-23RD APRIL 2025 A powerful Easter Exhibition Comes to Historic St. Michael’s Church in Dumfries Featuring a Special Talk by the Artist, Silvy Weatherall. This Easter season, Dumfries will host a globally acclaimed art exhibition as Silvy Weatherall’s The Last Supper arrives at St. Michael’s Church from 10th -23rd April 2025. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic painting, Weatherall’s exhibition takes a unique approach, reinterpreting the thirteen figures of Jesus and his disciples through sculptural busts made from broken ceramics. Using the ancient Japanese technique of Kintsugi, where shattered pieces are repaired with gold, these sculptures reflect the Easter message of brokenness, redemption and renewal. Weatherall, who has strong ties to Dumfries, has exhibited internationally, making this a rare and exciting homecoming. This moving installation, originally shown in London, invites visitors to reflect on the fragility of the human experience and the hope of restoration – themes that resonate both in Da Vinci’s masterpiece and the Easter story.
