Flood warnings issued

STORM Diana has arrived in the region today, with the West getting the worst of the weather.

A yellow weather warning for rain is in place until 9 pm tonight and six flood warnings have been issued for the Galloway coast, stretching from Kirkcudbright Bay to Loch Ryan. The combination of tidal levels and strong winds means coastal roads are likely to see significant flooding this afternoon.

Meanwhile, P&O ferries cancelled two sailings this morning and we may require to start stacking HGVs on the A751 near Stranraer if further sailings are cancelled.

Anyone living on the Galloway coast is advised to keep up-to-date with SEPA’s latest flood warning.
