Dartathon players delighted at final total
YOUNG darts players have raised £1500 after completing a ten-hour dartathon in Newton Stewart.
Members of the Club 180 darts team took part in different challenges during the marathon fundraising event at Vibe75 on Friday.
The aim of the event was to raise enough money for the team’s finals night next month.
As the hours trickled on, they kept their energy right until the last arrow was thrown.
Following the event, a group spokesperson said: “A big thank you to everyone who came out to support the event and has contributed in some way shape or form. The support has been really overwhelming from everyone who has donated prizes, bought raffles, given sponsorship and donated online.
“Also, a big thank you to those who came and supported the players throughout the day and those who handed in refreshments to keep the players going.
“The support of the community has been really amazing and with the generosity of everyone, on the day yesterday we raised around £1500.
We still have some sponsors to come in and then we can do a final tally up. This all goes along way to giving the Club 180 team a fantastic finals night in May.”
