Country fair countdown

PREPARATIONS are in hand for this year's Galloway Country Fair at Drumlanrig Castle next month. It takes place there on 9–10 August, promising a thrilling weekend of rural fun for all ages. Highlights include stunt motorbike shows, medieval jousting, the Ferret Show, and displays from Kipperridge Gun Dogs, falconry expert Mark French, and Drums N Roses. There'll be a chance to try clay pigeon shooting, air rifles and dog agility, while the Kids’ Zone offers a mix of free and paid fun with bouncy castles, laser quest, and mini quads, while adults can enjoy axe throwing and an assault course.

In addition, there's a craft and food marquee, demos in the Buccleuch Demo Kitchen, and country ware shops.
