Countdown to success with new fund
A NEW £100,000 challenge fund has been launched to support space technology businesses to develop innovative solutions that enhance natural capital in the South.
The Satellite Data Challenge for Natural Capital Enhancement aims to foster collaboration between space tech enterprises and partners in this region, and unlock economic business opportunities.
It aims to encourage the use of earth observation data to unlock new market opportunities, drive socio-economic growth, and support long-term sustainability.
Grants of up to £30,000 will be available to eligible projects to cover staffing costs and equipment, with no match funding required.
The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 24 October and a webinar is planned to provide more information and answer any questions.
South of Scotland Enterprise chief executive Jane Morrison-Ross said: “The new Satellite Data Challenge fund builds on the South of Scotland Space Strategy, which aims to awaken entrepreneurial opportunities, inspire new thinking, and create space jobs in the region.
“SOSE wants to support start-ups, scale-ups and businesses that see opportunities to develop new products in the space supply chain.”
