Could you give a dog a temporary home?

SHORT term and part time homes are needed locally for trainee guide dogs.

The Guid Dogs charity would love to hear from anyone who can offer time, support or a temporary home.

They need training dog fosterers in Kirkcudbright, Dalbeattie or Castle Douglas who can give a weekend home for 10–12 weeks while a young dog completes its training.

Respite fosterers are needed in the same area for emergency cover.

Across the region, there are vacancies for puppy raisers who can look after a pup for 12-16 months and support its early training, socialisation and confidence in new environments, as well as short term puppy fosterers.

In addition, fundraisers are wanted to help at local events and to manage collection boxes.
