Cornet Lass change

ABI Thomson has been asked to saddle up for this year’s Guid Nychburris celebration as Cornet’s Lass. It comes after Cornet Lass elect Lauren Nelson had to pull out following a horse riding accident which left her unable to carry out her duties. Abi, above, officially took up her new role on Saturday at the annual Cornet’s dinner. A spokesperson for the Dumfries Cornets’ Club said: “Lauren is recovering well, and everyone at the Club would like to thank her sincerely for all the hard work, commitment and enthusiasm she has brought to the role so far. We’re delighted to hear she is on the mend and look forward to welcoming her back along to events again soon. “We are excited to welcome Abi and wish her every success and enjoyment for the year ahead.”
