Cinema update

PLANS for a new cinema in Dumfries have taken a massive step forward. The team behind the proposed Regal site in Shakespeare Street, former home of the Odeon, on Friday reported that the missives had been completed and signed. They said: “Whilst this took a little longer than anticipated, we are delighted to be one step closer towards getting the cinema reopened. “A huge thanks to the team at Buzz bingo who will begin onsite work very soon, and also to our supporters who are working with us to bring this project to life.” Meanwhile, recruitment has also started for staff to work at the venue.
