Centre offers update on development
ANNAN Day Centre’s new build project took another step forward last week. The centre, which promotes holistic health and wellbeing activities for older people, currently operates out of the Market Hall, Downies Wynd. And it has plans to construct a purpose built venue on Charles Street, where the old library used to be. A statement from the centre on social media said: “You may not have heard much from us recently – but that’s only because a huge amount has been happening quietly behind the scenes. “Our project manager, Ewan MacFarlane, has been working incredibly hard over the past months coordinating all parts of the project – liaising with architects, engineers, surveyors and funders, and keeping everything moving forward step by step. “We’re very pleased to share that Stage Three is now complete and Stage Four funding has been secured, meaning the project is moving forward into the next phase of detailed technical design and delivery preparation. “We would also like to say a huge thank you to Dumfries & Galloway Council CLERF Funding and SOSE (South of Scotland Enterprise) for making both Stage Three and Stage Four possible. Without that support, this progress simply wouldn’t be happening. “Stage Three included the coordination of architectural, structural and engineering design, alongside surveys, investigations, and all the technical groundwork needed to properly prepare the project for the next phase.” The centre expressed thanks to everyone who continues to support the project.
