Celebrating Scottish heritage

PEOPLE around the world will celebrate their Scottish heritage and connections on Sunday as part of Tartan Day.

The event was founded in the Canadian Province of Nova Scotia in the late 1980’s and has gone on to become an occasion marked across the globe. Taking part will be W Glendinning and Son on Annan High Street.

The family-run company has one of the largest ranges of Highland wear and accessories in South West Scotland.

The gents’ outfitters and kilt hire specialists was founded in 1882 by Mr Walter Glendinning.

Recent acquisitions to the tartan range include Ancient Hunting Robertson and The Pretender. It takes about a year to design a kilt from start to finish. And these designs are exclusive to the shop in Annan.
