Caring Lorraine shortlisted for national award
A DEDICATED care home manager from Lockerbie has been shortlisted for a national award recognising excellence in social care.
Lorraine Platt, who runs Cygnet Social Care’s Trinity House and Trinity Lodge, has been named a finalist in the Executive Learning Disabilities and Autism Leader category at the 2025 Social Care Leadership Awards.
She first joined Trinity House in 2017 as an activity coordinator and has worked her way up to managing both Trinity House and Trinity Lodge. She previously worked with young people with mental health needs and challenging behaviours before returning to university at the age of 47 to complete a degree in health and social policy.
Speaking about her nomination, Lorraine said: “I feel shocked but honoured to be shortlisted. I have the pleasure of working alongside an amazing team at Trinity and at Cygnet Social Care. We all work together to ensure the individuals we support are part of our local community and choosing how they want to live their lives.
“I am really passionate about helping residents set personal goals and supporting them to achieve them.”
The awards take place on October 21 in London.
