A MUCH loved family home in Dalbeattie is in the running to be crowned Scotland’s finest. Craigmount, which is owned by the Osbornes, is a finalist in the Scotland’s Home of the Year 2025 show after it won the South region search. It’s now up against five others from across the country for the TV title, with the winner set to be revealed in the series finale on BBC Scotland tomorrow night, Monday. HEART OF THE HOME . . . the kitchen[/caption] Judges Anna Campbell-Jones and Banjo Beale, both interior designers, along with architect Danny Campbell – will choose their favourite. Hoping to sweep the boards is Craigmount, a Victorian semi-detached house, that’s home to Ozzy, Laura, daughter Grace and Ethel the pug. It has sweeping coastal views and a bold and colourful interior. The family made it their own by renovating and adding a tasteful extension to the original granite building. Commenting ahead of the finale, judge Anna Campbell-Jones said: “As always, we have a set of finalists that are each uniquely different from each other. When we film the final we are never sure who the winner will be - it could genuinely be any of these amazing homes. Through debate, much discussion and not a little heartbreak, we gradually whittle them down to one that we all agree has that magical edge - the home that best exemplifies what home means.” [caption id="attachment_59952" align="alignnone" width="680"]

STATEMENT . . . the copper bath[/caption] Banjo added: “Each home’s bursting with personality - bold, beautiful, and a real labour of love.” The trio will cast their votes based on architectural merit, distinctive design, original style and what makes a house a home.
