A NEW year-long campaign has been launched celebrating food and drink experiences in Dumfries and Galloway.

The aim is to inspire people to explore and get a taste of the local produce.

The campaign, Of Land, Sea and Season, is encouraging foodies across the UK to explore the South of Scotland, meet the makers and taste a region shaped by rugged coastlines, rolling hills and a rich culinary history for themselves.

It will run until March 2027 through Scotland Starts Here, the official tourism information website for the South of Scotland.

Highlights include food tours, cookery courses, guided foraging walks, an ice cream walking tour and a seafood safari.

David Hope-Jones OBE, chief executive of the South of Scotland Destination Alliance, said: "As the South of Scotland's reputation for world-class food and drink grows, more and more visitors want to not just consume but experience our rich culinary offering. It's about visitors immersing themselves in authentic stories of local production, community pride and incredible flavours. Most importantly, it's celebrating that our food and drink in the South of Scotland is led by the seasons and not the supermarkets."
