Cafe had a female friendly message

A SOUTH Scotland MSP has been raising awareness in Parliament of how menopause affects women. Carol Mochan hosted a Menopause cafe at Holyrood, above, to discuss the impact of menopause, raise awareness of its symptoms, and break down the taboos surrounding it. She said: “I speak to constituents around Dumfries and Galloway regularly who feel that the impact of the menopause on them is rarely recognised. In particular, they are concerned that women going through a very tough transition are not treated fairly at work with few concessions made by employers. “Women’s health is often misunderstood, neglected, and ignored. We need to change the narrative locally and nationally and the menopause is an issue where we can make direct and meaningful change.”
