Be Brexit prepared

WITH only five weeks until the UK leaves the European Union, businesses in the region are being urged to make use of resources to prepare.

South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE), alongside its partners including those at Dumfries and Galloway Council, are highlighting that there is help available should companies need it.

All partners locally are available for help and advice, and the prepareforbrexit.scot website is being updated regularly with latest guidance, advice and online events.

SOSE chair Professor Russel Griggs said: “There is no denying that this has been an incredibly challenging year and part of our role is to make sure that, in amongst everything going on, there is plenty of help, support and advice available to help businesses do what they need to do when it comes to preparing for Brexit.

“Collectively, we would urge all businesses across the South of Scotland to ensure they have appropriate plans in place and to use all the sources of information available.

“We are here to listen and help, and I would urge any businesses or groups who are looking for support and advice around Brexit to reach out and contact us.”

Cllr Rob Davidson added: “We have just weeks to go so it is vitally important that businesses get as prepared as they can be. I recognise this comes at the end of an incredibly tough year for businesses across Dumfries and Galloway and the South of Scotland.

“Dumfries and Galloway Council is working with our colleagues in SOSE and Scottish Borders Council and I would urge businesses to use the online material on the Prepare for Brexit website.”
