Army notice

A SMALL scale military exercise will take place near Thornhill next month. Officials at the Ministry of Defence have advised there will be troops on the ground around Thornhill, through to Barrhill between April 17-29. They will be moving on foot through hill and forest areas. There may also be some helicopter activity which will be limited and away from inhabited areas where possible. However, they stress that overall the exercise will have a low impact on the area. It's a routine training exercise and there is no risk to the public.
