Appeal to woman in van
POLICE are keen to trace a woman who got out of a moving van on the A701 near Dumfries. She was spotted exiting the vehicle, which was travelling southbound about two miles outside Dumfries, at about 7.35 pm on Monday. But she was then seen getting back into the small white van, which then drove off in the direction towards the roundabout which links to the A75. Officers in Dumfries are appealing for information and Sergeant David McDowall said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances of this incident and we are keen to trace the woman involved to ensure she is safe and well. “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed what happened to please contact us as soon as possible.
In addition, any drivers with dash-cam footage are urged to get in touch as this may be able to assist.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting reference 3246 of 25 August, 2025.
