Andy's marathon 24 hour radio DJ set

A POPULAR Dumfries radio DJ is set to be on the airwaves for 24 hours.

Alive Radio's Andy Mitchell is taking on the incredible challenge to raise essential funds for the local community station on August 23, starting at 2 pm.

The mammoth effort is to help the station to purchase a new transmitter.

Andy said: "Every little helps. Thank you for your support. This radio station is my happy place and safe place, I love what I do and it's our 16th birthday in September.

"Every dedication, donation, and message of support will make a huge difference."

And you can be part of the journey and help Andy keep going as people can sponsor an hour of Andy's marathon broadcast for £10 and request a song from his jukebox for £1.
