Amy the aftermath
HIGH winds and heavy rain from Storm Amy caused damage across Dumfries and Galloway at the weekend.
The first storm of the winter season hit on Friday and Saturday and impacted infrastructure and caused multiple power cuts locally.
There were report of roads being blocked and closed due to fallen trees and flash flooding,
Train services to and through the region were affected and some ferry services from Cairnryan, as well as local buses, were cancelled.
Road crashes were reported on the A75 and on some of the minor roads too and a tree was partially blocking the M74 northbound exit slip road for Kirkpatrick Fleming on Friday evening.
Warm hubs were set up by the council at various locations across the area for those affected by the electricity outages.
